I have been welding for over 20 years and use many brands of 7018 rods. I think that this Hobart welding rod is as nice as any other brand. Remember 7018 requires a little more skill to use

I have purchased this 7018 rod and used it in fabrication work. Welded in vertical and flat with no issues. The only downside is it is a hard rod to relight. I keep a file nearby and clean up the flux at end of the rod.
